Remake of Jupiter (2019)
Story
In flashbacks, a family joins a cosmic cult that promises salvation on Jupiter. As the past unravels their struggles, their teenage daughter must choose whether to follow her parents into the cult or forge her own path on Earth.
It is a dizzying landscape and space that borders on sci-fi, even psychological horror
"Jupiter" is a finely crafted film that manages to draw us into the inner world of a teenage girl, faced not only with the challenges of insecurity, but also with the torment of her disabled younger brother and her parents' descent into madness. During the discussion after the film, it occurred to me that the first comment was one of sympathy for the parents.
I even noticed that many adults are helpless
I had to counterpoint that in the madness and horror of the world, children are tragically and inexplicably neglected. The director insisted that they must reintegrate into a «good democratic society,» and even that they are unaware of their terrible deeds (they have good intentions).
Despite this, his film acts as a dissection of the vulnerability of adults in dire straits, but also an ode to the vulnerability of children
